My local writers' Christmas Tea was Saturday, and one of our members graciously offered her lovely Victorican home. The house is on the historic register, and is absolutely beautiful.
This tree is set up in the dining room. Wish I'd have remember to take a pic of the lovely array of food. We had tea with scones, lemon curd and finger sandwiches.
The member's mother-in-law hand-painted the celing in this extraordinary upstairs landing.
They've been working for 13 years to restore this house; every room is breathtaking.
Recently a car rolled down the hill and crashed into their front porch and it had to be rebuilt. What a treat it was to see this this house and celebrate a special occasion inside.
oh my goodness the house is beautiful. I know my husband and I would love to see it. We go to KC and stay at a bed & breakfast and they are beauitful. Did you feel like you were in fairy land? I wished my house looked like that. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Oh, Cheryl, what a beautiful, beautiful house! I'm so sorry about their having to rebuild the front porch. Our next door neighbors had a city truck roll into their home and knock it off the foundation. They had tons of repairs to take care of! I'm just glad no one was hurt in either case!

ReplyDeleteAnd Cheryl, it was before we bought our house, when it was still my in-laws. Good news for the neighbors was they got a totally updated kitchen and new windows, etc... Their house is beautiful!

BEAUTIFUL ceiling- a friend did that to the walls in her home and at our church, but the ceiling would be WAY more tricky-like Michaelangelo & the Sistine chapel!! I love old houses & take pics wherever we go.

Brenda, my sister & her hubbie enjoy B & B's; would love to indulge sometime, but we are going on a cruise mid Jan so it may be awhile before that happens.
