I have to say that I'm rather proud of my porch decorations. I put together foil wreaths and trees for a unique, and I daresay festive, decoration.

So sparkly and shiny. Very festive--sometimes it's good to let go, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteThis year two under five years old grandchildren are helping me decorate the tree. I will take them over a perfect tree! Love yours.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. My grandsons added a silvery plastic coat hanger to the decorations on their tree. It was almost scary how well it fit and how long it was on there before anyone noticed! :-)
ReplyDeleteLiz, that's 60 feet of garland! The kids wanted blue, but the store only had silver.
ReplyDeleteJulie, When my kids were little, the bottom half of the tree was VERY saturated with ornaments.
Liz, that's funny! And sounds suspiciously like something that could happen in my house.
Thanks for sharing your tree today, Sherri! I pinned it to Pinterest.

I LOVE THE CHRISTMAS TREE TOUR!
ReplyDeleteSherri, beautiful tree.
Cheryl, this is so fun. I love seeing how others decorate.
I remember picking you up for something once, Cheryl, or maybe getting something from you at your house and your tree was so spectacular. It makes my pathetic efforts look beyond lame.
Which doesn't mean I'm going to try harder. :)
Julie, for YEARS I had my tree tied to nails I'd hammered into the window frame. I planned on a kid tipping it over and defeated them before they could start. :)

I'm pretty OCD about our tree and take days to get it just right. Yours is gorgeous, Sherri! Merry Christmas and blessed post-Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteMary, this year I bought a real tree and put it on my kitchen. Last night I decorated it with vintage kitchen tools, cookie cutters and small cream pitchers, etc.. I'm loving it.
ReplyDeleteI meant IN my kitchen. Duh.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Cheryl, I'm officially pathetic. The kitchen tree sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cats now, but I remember when we were first married...dangling, sparkling things are like crack for kittens.
ReplyDeleteTanya, I really want to be OCD, but I finally had to give up! I think Cheryl's solution is perfect..you have the family tree, then you have the 'perfect' tree. Although I'm pretty much out of energy after bringing the boxes upstairs. After that, all I can think about is how they all have to go BACK downstairs again.
I think Mary and I were separated at birth, only I put the tree in the playpen--it was the only time a kid ever wanted IN it.
ReplyDeleteI used to use the old wooden playpen too!
DeleteOnce I get the tree up & put the lights on, I'm worn out & grumpy, so it's been my daughter's job to put the ornaments on for years. I do admit to doing a little, um, rearranging later on...
ReplyDeleteAnd I've always said it's not really Christmas until the tree has been knocked over at least once. :)
I have my kitchen tree tied to a knob so it won't keel over. LOL
ReplyDeleteThese days I have to wrangle my 26-year-old into helping me decorate, but it's still worth it. Love you tree!
ReplyDeleteMary, I'm with you! Plus, it seems like the kids want to help TOO much when you're not ready, and not enough when you are ready.
ReplyDeleteAlison, when the kids are older, I plan on doing what my mother does to me: I will sit on the couch, sipping eggnog and critiquing the process.
Don't even get me started on her 'squint' test...
Thats a lovely butterfly decoration..:) love the tree too.
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyed this christmas tree tour, cheryl.
Thank you for stopping by, Cecilia. Cheryl's Christmas Tree Tour is a harbinger of the season ;)
ReplyDeleteSherri, You made the right choice. Let the kids have the fun!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful trees! Your children did an amazing job! Send them my way..lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Lyn, those kids have a job for life decorating the tree now! That's what they get for being so proficient :)
ReplyDeleteGert, thank you for the kind words!
