Who would you rather hear sing this, Brandy, Elvis or Willie Nelson?
ALWAYS ON MY MIND
Maybe I didn't love you quite as good as I should have,
Maybe I didn't hold you quite as often as I could have,
Little things I should have said and done,
I just never took the time.
You were always on my mind,
You were always on my mind.
Maybe I didn't hold you all those lonely, lonely times,
And I guess I never told you, I'm so happy that you're mine,
If I made you feel second best,
I'm sorry, I was blind.
You were always on my mind,
You were always on my mind,
Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn't died,
Give me, give me one more chance to keep you satisfied,
If I made you feel second best,
I'm sorry, I was blind.
You were always on my mind,
You were always on my mind.
For me it's a toss up. I love Elvis, but Willie's rendition is haunting and -- repentant. You can hear the regret in his voice.
Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!
We're having a party over at Petticoats and Pistols!

Mine in on,,,guess what? Love songs.
I vote for Willie! My dad had his Stardust album when I grew up (I can't remember if this song is on that one or not) and I have so many memories of his songs. One of my faves is his version of "Georgia."
ReplyDeleteThat should have said "when I was growing up." Ugh! I'm blaming my cold for that . . .
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, my dad had the Stardust album too! What memories that brings back. 'Georgia' was the best!
ReplyDeleteWillie gets my vote.
Absolutely, without a doubt, Willie Nelson!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, Elvisis my favorite. Just because. After all, it's Elvis! And, my husband would kill me if I voted for anyone else. The king lives!
ReplyDeleteLove the song I am not sure who I would want I couldn't hear it until I left work no speakers. See they really want us to work...
ReplyDeleteI have to pick Elvis.
ReplyDeleteI like most the Pet Shop Boys version!
