When I have leftover fudge frosting - and I make it a point to have leftover fudge frosting - I get out the graham crackers and make graham cracker cookies, then put them in a tightly sealed Tupperware container and they get soft. Yummo.
Graham crackers just seem so expensive to me. I've tried all the store brands, but most are so crumbly when you break them. Don't you hate that?
Well, I just happened to find these at a Kroeger store where I don't normally shop, but I ran in for a cake for my son Jared's birthday. Kroeger is a store brand. Check it out! These graham crackers come already in squares, so you don't have to break them. How cool is that?
Very cool crackers Cheryl. I always break them crooked. Never on those dotted lines they give you. These are my very favorite cookies too. My grandma used to make them for us and I've always made extra frosting because our kids love them too. Great minds think alike. Or is it a midwest thing?
ReplyDeleteThis from my dear friend Mary Ellen:
ReplyDeleteCheryl -- I see by your blog that Hunky Jared is celebrating a birthday. Many Happy Birthday Wishes to him, and many more Happy Birthdays.
Re the graham cracker cookies. My Mom made many dozen of same for my brother and me to take in our lunch boxes we carried to country school. She made a powered sugar frosting and tinted some pink and added cocoa to some. We were the envy of the other kids with our white, chocolate and pink filled cookies. They often tried to trade us something from their lunch. It didn't take much to make us happy in those days. Ah, the trip down memory lane. Thank you.
Love, Mary Ellen
Thanks for the great tip, Cheryl! I'm going to look for the Kroger ones next time I'm in a Bakers.
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Birthday to Jared!
Is this a picture you took?
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten Mom used leftover frosting on saltine crackers, must have been BEFORE we licked the bowl. LOL Graham crackers would have been a better match with sweet, I think.
ReplyDeleteRemember I like Aldi's Chocolate
