As a mature member of staff at PHS, it is sometimes hard to distinguish new/young teachers from the older students with casual attire permitted. Bellevue doesn't allow jeans on staff but we can on Fri if we wear a collared school shirt. We received blue t-shirts with school name & staff printed on it so new students could locate us and mentor students (in tie-dyed labeled Leadership Cadre) the first day. 9th graders only so they could get acclimated without intimidating upper classmen. We also have 3 upperclassmen (1 male, 2 female) who come to homeroom to act as advisors for questions, etc. I think that's a neat idea!
My sister started her first day as a Senior last week as well. She, however, was not smiling as much..LOL
ReplyDeleteWell...that smile was a trifle--um--well, coerced. *g*
