Sunday
I don't know where my weekends go, but even when they're "uneventful" I'm always busy and Sunday evening is here before I know it. I rented a few movies to indulge myself; watched POSEIDEN and FIREWALL. I don't know which aging actor saddens me more: Kurt Russell or Harrison Ford. I never did think Harrison was that good looking, just rugged-looking and rakish. Kurt on the other hand...hmmm, well need I say more than SOLDIER is one of my favorite movies? I could watch OVERBOARD any day of the week and laugh myself silly.
Kids came and went, plucked a few weeds, church was awesome, and even read part of the Sunday paper. I rarely get around to that. Now I'm tidying up for a new week to start. Think I'll call my out of town girlfriend and touch base before the day is over.

I,too, love Overboard and could watch it a million times and laugh each and everytime-- it will never get old! I did see Firewall a couple weeks back and thought it was very good-- no Indiana Jones though!
ReplyDeleteNo, Katrina, in fact he kept fumbling and falling like an old out of shape dork, which was perfectly in character for the part he was playing, but he was ever ever so much more dashing as the president in Air Force One.
ReplyDeleteKatrina, my family speaks to each other in movie lines, and one of our favorites is OVERBOARD. If someone is being irritating or nosy, we say to them, "Eat your checkers!" LOL
ReplyDeleteKristin and I were walking the other night and she chokes and said, "I think I -- ate a bug!"
"Tofuti! Tofuti Kli-i-i-i-ne."
"Fire, fire, fire!"
"It wasn't me, Mom, Roy did it."
"Katarina!
"Arturo!"
Got any favorites?
I love Overboard!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to see Poseidon and Firewall.
Adorable kids!
Hm. I guess I have to wait until they show those movies on TV or I find them in second-hand bookstore or something. And now I don't get to see Bones either. I have to wait until next summer before they show the next season here.
ReplyDeleteI liked Air Force One! Of course for me part of the fun (besides Ford) was finding the "translation flowers".
AWK! Minna, no Bones?? I adore that show. I wonder how much postage is to Finland...I could tape for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI was bummed that Gray's Anatmy didn't win Emmy for best drama. I don't watch 24. GA and Bones are my favorites. And of course AI.
Grey's anatomy is my guilty pleasure. I started freaking out when they moved to Thursday (or will be) because of the time slot might conflict with ER (my other guilty pleasure). I can breathe easy, though...no conflicts.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a fan of American Idol, but got hooked this year. My fave didn't win, but he will go far!
I also love Overboard. I watch it whenever it's on. I've been a fan of Goldie Hawn since I first saw her on Laugh in!
ReplyDeleteYep. No Bones. *Sigh* I was checking the web pages of some Finnish super markets to see if they would have the first season of Bones on DVD, but no such luck yet.
ReplyDeleteWe'll also see Gray's Anatomy here soon, but I'm more interested in another new series, Dr. House.
ReplyDeleteI watched OVERBOARD over the weekend. LOL! Harrison Ford looked good as Indiana Jones. But, now he looks funky.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Big Brother All Stars.
Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones has obviously inspired one Finnish singer and song writer. I'm just listening to Pave Maijanen's Kadonneen sydämen metsästäjä, "Raider of the Lost Heart".
ReplyDeleteMinna: I love House so if you get to see it I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about Harrison Ford and his scar! Oh Cheryl I just loved your using those quotes in everyday life-- "EAT YOUR CHECKERS"-- HA! I need to let me girls see that movie-- they would love it-- those kids were a menace! I do always feel like Goldie at dinnertime when she boiled the whole chicken and said she felt like she had never done that before!
