If you will post the names of your pets, I want to use them in my current story, the one with Benjamin the veterinarian. If I don't get all the names into this story, I'll use some in my Chrristmas novella.
We have several stray cats around here that my dad named: Hoover, Tonto, Buster, Tiger, Fluffy, Scruffy, George, Jorge...are current cats...In the past we had Braveheart, Lazurus, Lassie, Snoopy, Spot, Xena, Kitty, Cujo, and many more cats.
My brother has a chocolate lab named Charlie and my sis has 2 min-pins named Mac and Champ.
Our English setter is Buddy Lee, but affectionately called Mama's good puppy unless he digs or chews, then he's that damn dog; grey tabby is Whiskey (or upstairs kitty). The grey Persian was Sir Bluffington Fluffy Pants, Fluffy for short, but also called push-face kitty or downstairs kitty. Previous cats were Fred, Ted, & Tesero. (Every Waking Moment for the contest)
My ex-boyfriend's parents had Mama Kitty, a white Persian that had kittens every year for 12+ yrs; lived to be 18 yrs. My neighbor has 11 cats NOW, Samson & Deliah, Ginger, Pumpkin, Tippy, Tuppence, Mommy & Montgomery, Midnight, Grey Boy and yes, one named Mouse (he's diabetic & is boarded when they go out of town.) Another neighbor has a beagle name Roo short for Roosevelt (could put that with Monte for a WW II reference.) (Every Waking Moment)
Oh...here are some more cat names from our past: Larry, Moe, Curly, Dingo, Twiggy (a current resident who is very skinny), Cole, Pluto, Mickey, Milo, Smokey, Bandit...we could write a book on cat names because there have been so many strays come and go over the years.
When I was little we had a dog named Sparky and my bro used to have a dalmation named Larry (or Sir Lawrence...that was his pedigree name).
Don't worry...I don't expect you to use all of those names...I was just giving you ideas. Buster and Hoover are the only current cats around here that are friendly.
I remember from English books cats called Tiptoes and Silky. My brother has a dog called Eve and he used to have cat who at first was called Minnie, but when it turned out Minnie was really a boy cat he got more suitable name, Wretch.
We used to have a cat named Lucy after Lucille Ball until I discovered the she was a he so we called it Lucipher I am sure you know why it got that name.
It looks like you are going to have a ton of names to chose from.
This has been fun! Some of your pet names aren't animals at all in my story -- or not the animals you expect! Sorry, but you have to wait till June to know. heh heh
The family cat (a male), who has since passed, was named Jo-Jo. My younger sister then got a little female she named Loretta. Get it? After The Beatles song, "Get Back."
Pepsi: cat female tortie Harmoni: cat female dilute tortie Onyx: cat male black Parker: cat male maine coon mix Whisper: cat male white Oscar: cat male longhaired orange tabby Kami: cat female torbie manx mix Serendipity: cat black and white scottish fold mix
Grace: dog (dalmatian mix) Abby: dog (g.shep mix) Kitsune: dog (shiba inu)
We had a dog named Goliath and one named Casey. A cat named Webster and one named Sassy. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my cats are gone now. I lost Mittens five years ago and just this summer I lost Pennie. I would love to see their names in your books!
ReplyDeleteThe Doctor's Wife
We have a dog named Mickey, one cat named Alf, and one named Uriko. This will be interesting to see all the animals names in the book. Good Luck
ReplyDeleteDamian is my cat's name. He wants to be in the dedication please. *g*
