Here's the German edition of Million-Dollar Makeover. I love foreign sales. My books are printed and released all over the world without any extra work on my part--how cool is that? Sometimes I question the covers. Stock photos? The heroine in this story has a pair of Golden Retrievers. Maybe if you squint and hold the book at a certain angle....
Stock photos... Probably! Sometimes when I'm looking for books in second hand bookstores I find two different books with the same picture and when you look at the stories, well, you wonder if the people who are picking the photos for books read them at all.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love reading foreign editions (no matter what the cover looks like). It's more fun to keep up your language skills by reading romantic books in foreign languages than by reading my dusty old language books. Right now I'm reading one of Nicola Cormick's books in German.
LOL I don't think so, Cheryl. I prefer to see scenes on the covers because then it doesn't matter that the characters don't look like the cover models.
ReplyDeleteLOL...interesting cover. I have this book...the American version.
ReplyDeleteMinna, what languages can you read? I may have a few copies lying around....
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be lovely! Besides my mother tongue and English I speak Swedish, German, Japanese and I've started to study Italian and I have no doubt that I'll be able to read a book in Italian long before I'll be able to read an entire book in Japanese without a kanji dictionary and swear words. I'm still more or less illiterate in that language.
ReplyDelete...and your mother tongue is...Finnish?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's Finnish.
ReplyDeleteDas ist ein gutes Buch!
ReplyDeleteIch spreche einige verschiedene Sprachen selbst.
