They're done using a wax resist method, layer by layer. I once stayed with a Ukrainian family in Saskatchewan, and they gave me two eggs. Unfortunately they broke years ago. Aren't these ones gorgeous?
I did these with my craft group one year and we were all amazed by how good our efforts looked. It's not as hard as you would think and the results are stunning.
Must take a lot of time to paint them. But they are beautiful
