Achey Breaky Me

This is me this morning. I usually manage to do this at least once a winter, under the car, off the stairs, in the driveway...today it was down my front porch stairs into a heap at the bottom.

I'm banged up, but I'm praising God that nothing is broken! (Except a couple of teal green fingernails that needed to be shorter and a different color anyway)

Ice and ibuprofen for me today.
and hopefully some new pages written!

  1. Sorry to hear about your little accident. I am glad you are okay. I was out sick last week from the flu so today was my first day back and I feel like I need the ice bag and Tylenol. LOL

  2. I was wishing you were praying for me this AM so must have been the Holy Spirit's way of putting you on my heart. Glad it was relatively minor. I was very grateful when my laundry chute door fell and I felt the swish of air as it came close to grazing my forehead; have a friend who had plastic surgery on her nose when a HUGE garbage lid did a number on her profile! We just never know how close we come to something more serious.

Cheryl, when I had muscle problems the pharmacist said ibuprofen. LOVE your humorous cartoon for a fun take on an unfortunate event!

Mickey, glad you are on the road to recovery; the "crude" has been rampant!

  3. Sorry to hear about your accident Cheryl! You almost made it through the winter. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you along with Lou.

Mickey-glad you're better. That flu bug is sure nasty isn't it? So far I'm the only one my office that hasn't gotten it. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way too!

  4. Cheryl--praise God you're ok. I love your humor about this and the great picture.
I usually have this happen once per winter myself. This year, it happened when I was carrying the littlest one and slipped as I came into our garage. Luckily, I'd parked too close to the door to the house so the hood of the van broke my fall. I was just banged up and shaky--not hurt.
So told my hubby it's a good thing I don't park well in the garage--saved my bones. LOL!

  5. Thanks for all the good wishes! I'm much better today, though my legs really ache. They seem to have taken the worst of it. I told Jay and Kristin I won't be wearing a skirt for a couple weeks, and Jay said he wouldn't wear one either just to make me feel better.

    What a guy.

  6. Thank God you're alright.

The last time this happened to me was two years ago. I was weak from an oncoming illness that hadn't showed up yet (CHF) and I couldn't get up. I didn't have the strength.

I stepped out of my front door onto a patch of thin ice and there I went, legs in the air and I fell HARD.

It was early in the morning, I was on my way to work, so there weren't any neighbors out and about yet, except one - an elderly gentleman. God bless him, he tried to help me up but he just couldn't do it. He did get me get on my hands and knees and I crawled back in the house on all fours. I ended up like you, banged up, but boy was that scary.

  7. Cheryl,
Sorry to hear about your spill. I haven't fallen lately, but tried sex with my legs in the air a few weeks ago...same affect. Can't move, sore, and wonder what in the heck I was thinking. :)

  8. Cheryl, I hope you on your way to healed. I fell on the ice the week before and am still suffering. I fell getting out of my van at school Injured myself from the back of my head to my tailbone! And because I just knew they needed me, I worked for two days before I went to the doctor. Then I missed a few days and am still not able to stand or sit for very long without pain. Walking isn't too bad and laying flay is fine except when I try to get up....oh the agony. Think it's back to the doctor!!
