I love contests as much as I love lists! LOL
Here's my new one:
Make a list of the top ten things you're thankful for right here in the comment section of this post.
On Thanksgiving Day, I'll have my family read them all and select the one they like the best.
Sound fun? I think so.
What to win, what to win...hmmm...well, those autographed books were pretty popular.
The winner recieves the book of their choice from my backlist.
So, put on your thinking caps and make a list! I can't wait to read them!
My list would be as follows:
ReplyDelete1. SMILES - daily gifts between friends and strangers.
2. FRIENDS - need I explain why?
3. PARENTS - as above and because when you lose them you know how unique they really are.
4. A NEW DAY - it contains a million expectations, hopes , dreams and new light.
5. SUNSHINE - we dont get alot of that here in England!
6. FOOD - particularly chocolate
7. WORK - for our hands and minds
8. TALENTS - ours and others'
9. PETS- it's good to know you are someone's hero!
10. KINDNESS - the stuff that brings us to our knees in humility.
Please may I have a longer list, lol, like say up to 2000? There are too many things to be thankful for................

1. My parents - they are the most important people in my life and they influence in every way.

3. My brother and sister - they support and understand me
4. Hugs and smiles from my niece and nephews - nothing makes me cheer up faster
5. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law - they love and care for my siblings and helped create my beautiful niece and nephews
6. Friends - they are there for me when I need them and cheer me up
7. My cats - they listen patiently (usually) and do not pass judgment
8. Books - they allow me to escape to anywhere I want and allow me to see the possibilities that exist
9. The words, "I love you" - these words make me feel so good everytime I hear them or say them
10. Chocolate - like all of the things listed above it has helped me through many difficult times in my life :)
There are so many things that I am thankful for that it was hard to make a top ten list, but I tried.

I am Thankful for:
ReplyDelete1. my health - starting my 4th year as a breast cancer survivor. the rest of my body is going but I'm still here.
2. my three darling daughters - who as they get older are becoming my closest friends.
3. my parents - because even though I'm 44, I'm still their little girl
4. my brothers and my sister - they are the ones I know I can depend on whether they I agree with me or not, they always support me.
5. each and every day since my diagnoses - every day is a gift from God. It was always so, but I've learned to appreciate each gift more.
6. chocolate - just can't give it up ;)
7. my eyes - so I can read. (I listen to books on tape as well, but there's not substitute for reading)
8. Fall -- i love to see the weather change. Most see spring as the renewal. I see the beginning of rebirth in the fall, when the trees get ready for their next bloom and mother nature rests for the winter.
9. Friends - they're my brothers and sisters from different mothers and fathers.
10. Love.
My list would be as folls:
ReplyDelete1. My little DAUGHTER - who is the BEST companon in the world and makes it worth getting up in the morning.
2. A SON who is talented and through hard times has made me proud to call him mine.
3. A Home even though I lost mine this year it's a nice place to come home to.
4. A JOB even though for 2 yrs. everyone thought I was too old to hire they gave me a chance.
5. My CHURCH & it's group who have everytime I have turned around with gifts that have gotten me back on my feet.
6. My wonderful DOCTORS who have saved my life and repaired my heart even though I had no money or insurance to pay them with.
I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the lists of things you're thankful for!

2. A supportive husband who holds my hand through every storm.
3. Beautiful children who show me daily what unconditional love is.
4. Friends who will laugh with me, cry with me---and tell me when there's something between my teeth.
5. Great romance novels that help me relax and escape for just a little while.
6. Parents & In-Laws who are supportive of our family and love our children to distraction.
7. A "pesky little sister" who has become my best friend and my greatest cheerleader.
8. I have to agree with Angie above---FOOD---especially Dark Chocolate. :-)
9. The luxury of living in a country that allows freedom.
10. The blessing of being able to share with others (like the homeless, the food bank, etc.)
