Mary Connealy: Montana Rose

Left pregnant and widowed in the unforgiving west, Cassie is forced into an unwanted marriage to rancher Red Dawson.

No decent man could turn away from Cassie and leave her to the rough men in Divide, Montana. Red Dawson does what he must, joining his life to a spoiled, snooty woman. Now he's got to keep her from killing herself with her efforts to be helpful, and prevent her attempts to be a good wife from leaving his ranch in ruins. And while Red struggles with his overly obedient but badly incompetent wife, an obsessed man plots to make Cassie his own, something he can't do as long as Red lives.

Montana Rose was actually inspired by Janette Oke's beautiful classic novel Love Comes Softly. Of course, me being me, my novel has taken an alarming turn to romantic comedy, suspense and mayhem.

I think of it as Love Comes Hardly.

Buy Montana Rose here

Or find it starting TODAY in a bookstore near you. And if it's NOT there, I give you permission to throw a fit, right there in the store. I've found holding my breath until I turn blue to be a remarkably effective tool for getting them to stock my books. I highly recommend it too you.

Mary's going to be sending an autographed copy of Montana Rose to one lucky reader, so leave a comment to be entered in the drawing!

  9. You should read Ms Oke's books. They're beautiful, awesome, you'll cry like a baby.

In fact I cry like a baby when I think how many more of them she's sold than me. :(

  12. Hi Mary! I hope you're having a fabulous day! I've really enjoyed your previous books (that I borrowed from Mom). It's so nice having a mother that's an author and always seems to have good books around to read. :)

I was reading the comments on The Pioneer Woman's site and saw that you had commented, so I wanted to drop a note and say hi. You are a very special lady and my husband and I are very grateful for all you did for us when we lost Joseph. Thank you for being such a classy lady. :)

I can't wait to read the new book!

    God bless,

  13. Ah, Beth, now you made me weepy. And right when I was going to start living with Cheryl, too.

You did mean I could come live at your HOUSE, right Cheryl?

I think about you and Joseph often, Beth. God bless you.

I think about your mom too. I try not to but she's proving darned hard to forget.

  14. Yeah, Mom is like that - very hard to forget! :-)

Sorry to make you weepy! I tend to do that to Mom often enough too, but I blame hers on menopause! That way, I don't get blamed for making her tear-up. :-)

  16. This sounds like another delightful Mary Connealy story! I love her sense of humor. I can relate to a heroine who is incompetent on a ranch because that would be me!

  25. You seriously found me on The Pioneer Woman? I did get in kind of early today...like 27th, as opposed to 300th.

    Love that blog.

Cheryl's best of course, but then Ree Drummond is a strong second.

No, I'm not putting her link her. She doesn't need my help. :)
