Thank you for posting it.
It's beautiful.
How ironic that whoever wrote this beautiful story...is unknown...is invisible... to us.Mary Connealyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09598386111251769803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14505413.post-15331551511424841392008-03-14T13:33:00.000-05:002008-03-14T13:33:00.000-05:00First I've read it so thanks for sharing. I was fortunate to spend a school year helping 28 K-4 students in reading; 3 made major break throughs; rest made significant progress. I felt I was the frosting on the cake, the previous teachers laid the foundation with basics; I gave them a little extra attention. We don't always get results so quickly as several of them were 4th graders. I made sure I rejoiced with their former teachers! It was exciting!!! As readers and authors I'm sure you can appreciate the thrill! :)
Now the discouragement is working with HS SPED kids who read at 2-4 grade level and not motivated to improve; they see it as too much of a struggle. :( They have 4 shelves of books at EVERY reading level and only 1 of 10 will voluntarily read a book for fun. Although they are enjoying the Magic Tree House books in group with help.

My sons are 20 & 25 so I'd have to think back to those days.
Maureen, I do remember a specific kiss my older son gave me when he was 10 at the bus stop and a recent message just to say he loved me & update me that he was starting school. They both are not shy about hugs which is a blessing.LuckyLouPlattsmouthNEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11928593141326304867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14505413.post-38143448746398432252008-03-13T13:15:00.000-05:002008-03-13T13:15:00.000-05:00What a great article. I think every mother has felt "invisible" but then one of my kids will do something as simple as giving me a kiss and a hug and I feel better.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16392692656456938856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14505413.post-22996170181373380672008-03-13T00:22:00.000-05:002008-03-13T00:22:00.000-05:00I saw this one night when I felt "invisible".
