Hi everyone, Winnie Griggs here. First, a big thank you to Cheryl for inviting me here today.
Unfortunately I’m behind on things and haven’t gotten my Christmas tree up yet this year. But I have several tabletop trees that are part of my decorating arsenal so I thought I’d share those with you.
The first is the bubble tree I inherited from my grandmother. I know I’ve shown it to you before but it is one of my all time favorite decorations and has very deep sentimental value for me.
The next is one that was a new display last year but will make many more appearances in the future. I call it my nose-in-a-book tree. I decorated it with book lover ornaments that I’ve collected or that have been given to me over the years, and I finally pulled them all together in one display.
The
next one I made this year, fashioned out of old costume jewelry I had lying
around. I’d seen similar trees on Etsy
and Pinterest and thought I’d give it a go. I’m rather pleased with how it
turned out if I do say so myself. J
And
last, but not least, I thought I’d share a glimpse of how my ‘big’ tree looked
last year – at least the top half of it.

Love your trees. I didn't get my tree up until yesterday. I just have a three foot tree on a table. I don't put up a big tree anymore. The kid is grown now and I don't have grandchildren, so a small tree works for us.
ReplyDeleteHi Quilt Lady. I actually bought a three foot tree to replace my six footer when my kids left home, but they all protested when they came home for Christmas so now I put the big one up again. :)

DeleteMerry Christmas, Winnie! Love you themed mini trees! I got away from Christmas trees a few years ago when that last tree became a yearlong seasonal tree. Christmas was followed by Valentines, Mardi Gras, Sts Patrick and Joseph,. By Easter, the novelty wore off. And the project ended at Jazz Fest. With your trees, the true holiday reason remains in the season to be enjoyed then. Love it! Thanks for the chance to win one of your books

ReplyDeleteHi Lori. Yes, the bubble trees are somewhat rare now I think. But I really love mine because it reminds me of Christmases past spent at my grandparent's home.

ReplyDeleteWe will put our small three up closer to Christmas when our son joins us. As we have three adorable kitties, any sooner and I would be spending the day picking up ornaments and the tree itself. :-)

DeleteI am really intrigued by what Janell's secret could be. I hope to win so I can find out soon, however, this book is already on my to-read list on goodreads.com. I am sad to say I have yet to put up my Christmas tree and decorations. Health issues prevent it at this time.
