Tiger Lilies - New Drawing

I've had such a hectic guest blog schedule that I've missed blogging here and posting photos, etc. so I'm making up for it this week - every comment this week will be added to the FISHBOWL for a new drawing - I have another pretty cup & saucer to give away. So come back often, and let's chat!

These are the tiger lilies and Asian lilies in my side yard.

  4. Cher, I love getting your pictures in my email. I am so impressed with your photography. You take something simple and turn it into a work of art. Do you ever enlarge and frame your pictures?

  5. Thanks guys! Apparently I have a good eye for light and angles, because I sure don't have any training. The time of day means everything in a good outdoor photo. Early morning or late afternoon are the very best for color and shadows.

Occasionally I enlarge a picture - sometimes I even make prints *G* often they are only digital. Once in a while I add a caption and have a few enlarged and printed for gifts. I've given my critique group photos with inspirational sayings for Christmas in the past.

I've been thinking about going to visit an amazing local park to take pictures.

I also felt so inspired to write that I stared a NEW blog called Echos of the Ozarks. echosoftheozarks.blogspot.com
It is going to be about MO Ozarks history. Who knows...maybe someday I'll write a book? =)

    Later!

  7. I love the lilies! We have cana's growing now but the heat is so fierce, I don't think they will last without rain for much longer.
    I enjoyed my visit.

  8. Tiger Lillies!!! I haven't seen those since we left Nebraska. They most not grow here very well. We used to eat the leaves when we were kids. Surprised we weren't poisoned. We pretended they were magic and made us invisible. Memories!

  9. Your flowers are gorgeous. Do your pansies come back every year? I thought they were annuals, but a few years ago I planted some in the fall and every year they came back. In fact they almost took over my flower garden. It is so nice to look out and see flower and green grass and not snow.

  10. Judy, only once have I ever had pansies come back. They are annuals. How amazing that you have some that return! They're not violets, are they?

  12. Oh what a pretty garden, your lillies look fabulous. The one around my pond look really bad this year but I have been redoing my kitchen and haven't had time to mess with them. I think the weeds are taking over, not to mention the rain is drowning everything around here. Its raining again today. cry

  13. Cheryl, I know they were pansies and not violets. Maybe they are a stronger species in the fall as opposed to the spring. I know they are usually annuals, but you should also know that I have a black thumb.
