Drawing Announcement from Liz Flaherty!

I want to thank you all for being so welcoming this week. I did the drawing for the two copies of THE DEBUTANTE’S SECOND CHANCE and the two of ALWAYS ANNIE today, and believe me when I say I didn’t want to--I’d rather have just sent everyone a book. However, I think the object is to SELL books.

The winners are:

LuckyLouPlattsmouthNE
MelJPrincess
Jennifer Y
Mickey (Brenda)

If you’ll email me your addresses (and your real names; I mean, I CAN address it to LuckyLou, but...) to

lflaherty@comteck.com

I’ll get the books sent out right away, and I hope you enjoy them.

  2. WOW! I'm tinkled pink, or should I say shamrock green?

Liz, I emailed you, along with a list of the 6 Lamberts I store in the OTHER antique barristers bookcase next to the one housing Cheryl's signed books. She rates HIGH in my book (pun intended! ROFL)

Congrats to the other 3 winners! THANKS to Cheryl for introducing us to such a generous author and kindred spirit. (shades of Anne of Green Gables.)

  3. Oh, Green Gables...

In 1994, I made my daughter's wedding gown (satin, lace, train, the whole bit). I sewed in the dining room of my house right dead in the middle of remodeling. It was the first wedding dress I ever made, and it should have been water- and blood-spotted from all the tears I shed and needles I broke doing it! However, the dress and the bride were both beautiful.

Point of the story is that the whole time I sewed (from March through July; I also did four bridesmaids' and two flower girls' dresses), I watched ANNE OF GREEN GABLES and ANNE OF AVONLEA. They were the comfort food of movies. When Colleen Dewhurst (Marilla) passed away, I cried--I felt as though I'd lost a relative!

  7. Liz, my comfort story is that 19 yrs ago when our son was born 2 months early, I watched only 10 hrs of TV in 2 months, and 4 hrs was Anne, plus The Incredible Mr Limpet. I couldn't tell you what I watched last week. LOL

PS my sister is the seamtress; made her gown, spouse's & ringbear's tuxes, Dad's suit, & 2 dresses, plus net aprons and 1-200 satin roses. Luckily several were free for displaying them in fabric store where she worked.
