we need a small vacation

Thanks Minna for finding us a spot for a holiday. We're going to be exhausted after Eric is finished with all the work, so I think a vacation is in order. We'll meet at this quaint retreat in Finland next week, what do you say?

  1. What a beautiful little place I would like to go and see it. It would be nice to have another vacation. Just got back from Florida but I would not call it a vacation I think I did more then, then I do in a year, so this little place looks like a place I could go and get some rest and enjoy the beauty.

  2. Okay, that's how many of us going? Let's let Cheryl (oh, yes and Minna) know so they can be prepared for us! LOL

  3. Oh, I forgot. Don't forget to bring Cheryl's new book along and we can have a "read-a-thon." You WON"T want to miss "The Preacher's Daughter!" I read it in 1 day, yes, 1 day!!! It is THAT good!!!!

  4. I would like to come too! And I agree with you Sue, "The Preacher's Daughter" is great, I also read it in less than a day.

  5. Count me in! I could use a vacation and that looks like a great place to visit.

I really enjoyed The Preacher's Daughter, too!

  6. Okay, Cher, you started this. So, when do we go and who is gonna buy the tickets (and pay for them)?!?!?! Do ya think maybe we could make a deal with HH to pay for it and we could 'inspire' Cheryl to greater heights? LOL I think "The Preacher's Daughter" is one of my favorite ones of Cheryl's. I don't think I have EVER read a book in a day, unless I was sick in bed and couldn't do anything else. Which wasn't the case here.

  8. Would LOVE to meet all of you & share favorite authors in a read-athon. Our 6 families did that for a week each summer for 20+ yrs at Leech Lake in Minn- IMAGINE: sit in Adirondak chairs on the beach or in the lodge if it rained; relax with Indian time, no clocks, phones, TV'S, computers or email! We could chat when we wanted company and enjoy solitude, peace & quiet when we didn't. Sounds like HEAVEN to me!! Add a massage & room service and I'm there in a heart beat!!
Victoria Alexander & some authors did a cruise, but I don't think it would be as relaxing. I loved my cruise in Jan, but I was BU-U-S-SY!

And I read "Preacher's Daughter" in two half days and think it may be the best yet. Sure touched my heart!!

  9. Thank you ALL for the good reports on The Preacher's Daughter. It has garnered rave reviews - I'm absolutely delighted. And Sybil Cooks' review at The Good The Bad and the Unread was syndicated, picked up by USA Today and ibs and Reuters! At ibs there are links to 70 TV news channels, so that means whenever someone in, say, Denver goes to the ABC local channel website, they see the link for that review in the sidebar.

    AMAZING! I am blessed!

  12. I assume they have lake somewhere close. And if the summer cottage doesn't come with a sauna then it's not a Finnish one.
