What's wrong with this picture?

This one is courtesy of Hazel. Kind of freaky once you see the error. I do remember seeing this in the past. Kind of makes you wonder where the proof editors were in the art department, doesn't it? Or what the artist drank with lunch.

Thank you, Hazel!

  1. It would certainly help if the artists were to read the stories prior to drawing the characters or maybe the authors could give a written description of the two main characters ... silly to see a brunette heroine when the story tells us she is a redhead or blonde, etc. :-)

  2. Who has the three hands, him or her?

  3. LOL.....Interesting that she has three hands.

I never pay attention to covers because a lot of time they don't have any resemblence to the hero/heroine. I don't want any conceived ideas of what the main characters look out before I get their descriptions from the book.

  4. LOL! I'll bet the hero would be happy if she had three hands.
    Hi Lurkers.
    Happy New Year, Everybody!

  5. I wonder how many people wrote in and told them about the three hands. I think you are right meljprincess about him wanting her to have 3 hands.

  10. Guess I'm unobservant, didn't notice the hands, although I know of another cover that had 3 hands.

Sun we have a 4-6" snow storm so maybe Cheryl is making snowmen or snowball fighting with her grandkids or WRITING to entertain us soon!
Hope she NOT driving or shopping!!
I took mainly white with liver-spots English setter gamboling & cavorting in his first BIG snow; he was SO amusing, I knocked on 2 neighbors doors so they could see; strung 3 leashes together to give him more room to roam!
Now I'm enjoying a fire & reading 6th novel in series with ice pack for my back & Dad is snoozing on other couch. Today is son's 19th Bday- presents soon; pie, ice cream & root beer floats. NOT going out to celebrate: white grape juice or leftover Boone's Farm apple wine from Redneck Dinner Theatre. HAPPY New Year to ALL!!

  11. Cheryl, artist is RA Maguire. Back cover reads: " What man would have her once he discovered her secret?" THIS might be it! ROFL!! "And what man's touch could she ever bear again?" Looks like she's bearing up well!
INSIDE blurb: "He lifted her hand to his mouth, kissed each fingertip..." then "He brushed his fingers over her palm" and read her (palm) "line of destiny". So HANDS appear to be key to the plot!!
This is one of 21 books I have of Christina's, NO surprise to you.
From 1993 so it's her 4th book; sequel to Candle in the Window, which I DON'T have so won't read this one til I do.

CSJ, you KNOW if it had been a typo, I would have found it!! In the Balogh series I'm reading, I've found 4-5 errors in 3 books so far.

  12. Actualy I was napping! We have a blizzard here and had to head out quite earlu for church. Our musuicans didn't make it in for service, and I was left to quickly make do with CDs. All went well regardless and had a scrumptious lunch at the Hollywood Diner. Remember the pic of those malts? Hubby and I shared one. Yes, Mel, I just read your comment. LOL what guy wouldn't appreciate this heroine? ::;snort:::

  13. Lou, your afternoon sounds wonderful. I TRIED to get Jay to stop at the Goodwill on the way home -- only half a block away -- he wouldn't budge. LOL

  14. You know it really looks like she has 4 hands!! His hand that's around her shoulder looks kinda feminine to me!! Most of the time I don't pay alot of attention to covers either, because sometimes the hero and heroine don't match the description in the book. Happy New YEar.

  16. I wonder how things like this make it past the Art Department and others. Christina Dodd has a page devoted to this cover and discusses it on her site.
