Remember how I said writing THE END was cause for celebration?

Well, we're going to celebrate here as soon as the book is in the mail!

My mom is still cleaning and found more doubles among her books, so I'll be giving these books away:

CHARLIE'S ANGELS
LAND OF DREAMS
THE DOCTOR'S WIFE
THE GUNSLINGER'S BRIDE
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

How to get one:
Each time you post here through the next week or so (I HOPE it's only a week!) add the title of the book you'd like to receive at the end of your comment.

I'll use each comment as a slip for the drawing.

BONUS GIVEAWAY

I have another book to give away, and you'll be excited about this one! It's an autographed copy of Brenda Novak's EVERY WAKING MOMENT, and it's a stay-awake-all-night keeper you'll want to read. This story of Emma Wright and her son escaping from an abusive husband and finding love and trust along the way hooked me with the gripping characterization Brenda is so good at.

Check out her website for a cool trailer of her new book DEAD SILENCE and download a coupon for $1. off.

After names for my books have been drawn, I'll toss all the names together and draw for this one. I know my blog hasn't been terribly active as of late, but I'm in deadline crunch, so bear with me, please. I love you guys!

  5. I will have to look up Brenda Novak I haven't read one of her books. I did on my lunch go buy the book Eve's Christmas by Janet Dailey, I guess I am a sucker for Holiday books. Also while I was there had to get some pumpkin cheese cake and a pumpkin Frapp so now I am stuffed. I also had to order janet's new book that comes out tuesday. (Thanksgiving)..
I also asked them why they don't have you at the crossroads for a signing always at Oakview and the manager said that is a good question. Just heads up maybe they will call you.

  10. Cheryl, you are worth the wait and so are your novels!!! Love your GENEROUS promotion of fellow authors so please add Brenda's "Every Waking Moment" to my email about J Evanovich. I wondered why someone did that on that blog & now I know! Have your signature on 3 of yours; will bring Magnificent Seven & Gunslinger's Bride when next we meet (Crossroads thanks to Brenda M?) so would appreciate adding a new author to my expanding shelves of signed books!
FYI: found my box with 23 Montana Mavericks so can check your list; THANKS!! and added your 2 newest ones to them.
Joye, ditto on cooking & holidays! Quotes from my Hallmark t-shirts: 1)On Halloween, cats finally become as important as they think, 2)Men are like Pumpkins: the good ones are either taken or empty-headed
3)My Costume is a Little Corny (black sprinkled with Candy Corn) My favorite treat is to bite each end, then eat the middle. Mom made carameled apples & popcorn balls for the neighbor kids when you knew them & they trusted you.

  11. Cheryl, speaking of MM & other authors, if you can offer anything from Marilyn Pappano, I would be in Seventh Heaven and so would your readers!! I was THRILLED when another of my FAVORITE authors had her book Season for Miracles as a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation 12/12/99 starring Patty Duke, Lynn Redgrave & Laura Dern among others!!(worked with them for 8 yrs.) She had 2 trilogies (Southern Knights) set in New Orleans that had me on the edge of my seat! Have 32 of hers, none signed. Would love to meet her.

Echo Kim & Carol's encouragement & Kim's gratitude to your mother. Will we ever meet her at a local signing? See pictures of the grandkids, is Mom out-of town?

Join Karen in MANY thanks for your drawings and friendship.

  12. Cute shirts LuckyLou!

Good luck Cheryl! Thanks to your mom as well and you for being so nice to us readers!

LAND OF DREAMS (added because of contest)...isn't that what we are supposed to do? add what book we want to each post we make this week? Just wondering if I am doing it wrong

  13. Jennifer, hope Cheryl understood that I am entering only to win the Brenda Novak book as I already have those 5 of her books; my quote is "I'm Lucky Lou, if I don't win, the person next to me (often) does; I share my luck." I feel other loyal readers should have a chance to win since I don't need those. Won't be this altruistic when it involves the few I DON'T have. So you could be the winner, J! Hope this clarifies it for others I may have confused.
(I've been lucky since I won a hairblower at 15 and have lots of stories of others winning drawings/contests, too, not just me/NOT gambling!)

  14. Did you set your clocks back an hour? (FALL back) Gaining an hour is another reason autumn is my favorite season.

Waiting patiently to read Ben's story and to see his face on the cover. I hope he's half as dreamy as the one you posted for us.

Cheryl, will your celebration take the form of chocolate, shoe shopping, something else or all 3?
I still think a long-distance tea party (or beverage of our choice) at the same time, allowing for time zone's, is the ticket.

  15. I understood what you meant LuckyLou...you didn't confuse me...I was just making sure that I was doing it right. I hadn't noticed that many others putting the book at the ends of their comments in other posts, but that is how I read it. I was checking to see if we were supposed to put it on every comment or just the ones here.

  17. Lou, my mom lives in town, but she hasn't made it to one of my signings for several years. She doesn't drive.

I have a lovely picture of my mom and oldest daughter and I all together at a signing for my first book. I will find it for you. Mom was my first fan, before I ever even had the courage to submit a story. She is a huge romance reader, especially loves historicals. Her favorites are Lois Greiman, Dorothy Garlock, and the talented Harlequin Historical authors. A few of my HH friends are kind enough to remember my mom with postcards and bookmarks and an occasional book!

My dad just passed away last June. He was always the PR man, talking me up to everyone he met. I kept him supplied with bookmarks and business cards, and even when he was in the nursing home, he would tell the aids about my books and get their addresses for my mailing list!

  18. Gotcha, Lou. You know, it's not such a bad thing to know you already have all of my books! LOL

But...next month how about I hold a drawing for an advance reader

p.s. I have met Marilyn Pappano and am on a Special Edition listserv with her. I enjoy her books, too!
