This was my best picture of the weekend. I love the shadowed pumpkin in the foreground and the lighter foilage in the background.

I am loving the weather this week, and wondering what I will take pictures of when Nebraska winter is full upon us. That will my challenge, eh?

I'm leaving for Tulsa in a few days. The forecast there is mild 70s, maybe cloudy for a day or two. It's a road trip to a conference with five other women, and I can't wait to have the breather. Tomorrow I dig out my luggage and start packing.

Today I worked on art fact sheets for my May '07 book--I'm still writing it, but they wanted to get it into production and the cover comes first. I sent the picture of our favorite cowboy! Fingers crossed that the hero on the cover looks that good. I did mention that he has lips that arrest a woman's thoughts. LOL

  1. Great picture of the GREAT PUMPKIN; could submit it for the cover of a seed packet! Cheryl, you could have a combined career as a photographer. Love the tiny flower peeking out from behind it, nice contrast in color, size & light & shade as you mentioned. Have a safe, fun, relaxing meeting.

  2. That is a really good picture, Cheryl. I wish I had a nice camera. I took some great pictures at the zoo in Va. Beach years ago and I was shocked at how well they came out. I'd love to be a photographer!
Have a wonderful time in Tulsa. How long will you be gone?
My fingers are crossed for the cover.

  3. I love your photos, Cheryl! Did you ever want to be a photographer!

Mel, it's not too late! You can still do it! You can even do it just for fun! My kids are always snaping pictures and with the new cameras, you can print only the ones you like.

I got my prize, Cheryl! Thank you again!

  4. Sorry, meant snapping.

Hope you have a nice trip, Cheryl! It sounds like fun.

  5. We leave at 6:30 am Thurs and get back late Sunday night.

I'm tickled to have someone to show my pictures to! Thanks for looking.

  6. I have a little red head who loves to pose! LOL

    Very nice picture.
