Holiday Fun

So how was your Easter? For the first time ever I didn't cook and our family went out for dinner after church. Boy, was that a lot less work! Of course we had our traditional egg hunt, even though the day was overcast and chilly.

Here are seven of my nine little darlings. Aren't they the cutest kids you ever saw? My daughter LeighAnn and I just discovered the self-serve photo machines at Wal-mart. Duh. Why have a regular camera when these are so easy?

  1. I had a quiet and relaxing Easter. This was the first major holiday without my Dad so I was a bit weepy. However, my fiance cheered me up. He bought me a new computer.
I did eat one of those small, hollow, chocolate bunnies. My cat gave it to me for Easter.

  2. Those first holidays are rough without a loved one, I'm sure. YOu're blessed to have a great guy. (And a new computer!)

One bunny, Mel? You are sooo--ooo good. I helped fill the plastic eggs for the egg hunt and had my fill of robin's eggs and Starburst jelly beans. Yum. Then I went out the day AFTER Easter and bought my Russell Stover strawberry cream eggs half price. Have I ever mentioned I love chocolate? LOL

  3. It was rough, Cheryl. Thanks for the comment about my guy. I'll have to show it to him. Computer should arrive today.
Oh, I didn't stop at one bunny. LOL! We have bags of Easter candy (also bought at half price) that I've been munching on. Chocolate is my favorite food! LOL!

  4. That's a great picture! My daughter has a playset like that in her yard, too.
I spent the day with my family at my son's house and only ate one marshmellow egg! I'm trying very hard to lose a few pounds! lol

  5. How cute! I spent the weekend with my family at my brother's house. Word of advice...Easter grass should not be given to children under the age of 3. My twin nephews (they are 2) loved to throw it around and use it like confetti. It was everywhere and got tracked through the house.

  6. LOL Neither should one ever dole out Jell-o Jiggler eggs willy nilly. One year I had a variety of colors ground into my carpet! As you can see, they're all much older and far more responsible than then. har har

  7. Yes, Chocolate is a food group. It is actually the base of the pyramid so one is allowed what..12 to 14 servings a day. LOL. What lovely children...this must have been taken before the egg hunt (just kidding!) My kids are older now but they still hung easter eggs on the tree. Nowadays, the eggs for the hunt are filled with coins. It guarantees all eggs are found.

  8. Great photo! Thanks for the tip since I'm NOT a Wal-mart fan. Brian (23) peeled potatoes, I mashed them, hubby Robert baked the spiral cut ham (bone for the puppy, buddy Lee) & David (18) washed dishes by hand. Each son got a chocolate Easter bunny which they resisted for a whole day! What restraint! YES, chocolate is a food group & I like ML's 12-14 portions, although Carol's reducing
goal is mine too. Refrig poster:"Blessed are those who resist temptation... for they shall grow thin." Picture of lady in exercise clothes munching on Cheetos & Haagen Daas watching woman exercise on TV. So I ate the entire bag of licorce jelly beans in 4 days. Plan to get sugar-free chocolate at Russell Stover, too. Mel, what a thoughtful cat AND fiance!
