Friday Too Soon

Here did the week go? I've been in the zone ending up THE LAWLESS MISS HOLLIS which is due next week. I've never written a book in quite this way before, which is surprising, but it's working. I've always been a very linear writer--beginning to end, very little editing or changing. This time I've gone back and added, rearranged and cut, changed gears and headed back in the right direction. The story differs from the synopsis as always, but in kind of a weird way. Goes to show a writers style is always evolving and nothing ever works the same way twice. As soon as I get under 100 pages I feel the relief, and this was no different. Whew!

  1. This week has gone by fast. That really is a great title. Well, Cheryl, now that you've finished the book what are you going to do? *g*

  2. Well, I haven't quite finished the book. I still have part of next week. Once it is finished I scheduled six weeks to write the next proposal -- the book's already contracted, I just don't know what it us yet -- and also write a new proposal for which I DO have an idea -- with my hopes leaning toward a family series.

  3. LOL! You were supposed to say "I'm going to Disneyland!"
Looking forward to news of your next book. :-)

  4. Disneyland? I'd be happy with an afternoon to work in the yard. I think I'm going to sqeeze that in this afternoon. All work and no play makes Cheryl a grouchy chickie.

  5. Enjoy your work in the yard. Hope you have sunshine cause we don't. And, it's cold here! Where did our spring weather go?
I'm off to read and snuggle with my cat. That's my favorite thing to do. :-)

  6. I love curling up with a good book too....that is how I reward myself. Yucky weather here so no yard work.

  8. It's overcast, gloomy and raining in RI. So depressing. I'm now depressed on top of grieving. :-(

  9. Hope you found a good book over the weekend, Mel. Did those cat snuggles help??

  10. Mel, a good friend here is from RI. And I have a co-worker who is learning Lakota in Bellevue, NE. I would like to, but not the right time now. I remember the first Tgiving after my Mom died; we didn't get together & Dad sat home in his bathrobe; he didn't even feel up to seeing my sister in town. The Lord is sending us sunshine and I'm going out on the deck to study my Sun School lesson, joined by the dog. The 3 men are gone so it's quiet-we're taping with TiVo to take advantage of nice weather. That helps MY depression. I may be able to curl up with our tabby if the medicine we are both taking works, Mel!
Cheryl, as always, can hardly wait for your next book & REALLY glad to hear TWO are in process; lean a little more toward that family idea, please!

  11. Oh, Cheryl. Cat snuggles always help. If I could marry my cat I would. lol! He's a 13 pound, male, applehead, Siamese named, Damian. Major Momma's boy. He's been with me since he was 1 and now he's around (I'm guessing here) 16 or so. He's the love of my life! I don't know what I'd do without him. He won a contest once. *g* Yea, Love Romances sent him a toy, can of food and some other goodies. He'd like to say hello. Meeeeeoooooowwwws it going, Cheryl? You're puuurrrrrrfectly wonderful. =^.^=

  12. Lucky, I'm in Newport. Where's your friend from? I'm not from here originally. And, I will only be here for another year and 3 months. My SO is in the Navy.
Sunshine is great for depression. Unfortunately it's still overcast and rainy here. Hope ya got to curl up with your tabby. Cats are wonderful!
