Guess how I celebrated?

Okay, so I went shoe shopping. Are you familiar with DSW? We have one here in an upscale new shopping center called Village Point. There are more pair of shoes in one building than you've ever seen in your life!! And -- get ready -- I didn't buy from the clearance racks! I know, my Scotch grandmother would have a fit of apoplexy, but this was a special occasion.

I have two new pair and two more picked out for next time, including a gold pair to wear to an awards ceremony.
Can't wait for tomorrow - it's Sunday and I can wear new shoes!

  1. What a way to celebrate! I am just not a shoe person, but I say that you deserved to splurge!

  2. Shoes are like books. One can never have too many. *g*

  3. You need to take yourself back there to DSW and get yourself a couple more pairs. I think a Rita Finalist deserves more than just two new pairs.. doncha think?

    I love shoes, too (G)

  6. I love purses, Maureen, but I hate changing them. It's such a hassle to move everything from one to another and not forget something. They're not as easy to store by the dozens, either, though I do use storage totes like I do for shoes. I want to be able to see through and find what I want quickly while I'm getting ready. I think it's great that shoes and purses don't have to exactly match anymore, too, because I have my favorites. I know ladies who buy a purse and use it until it wears out, but I can't remember the last time I wore out a purse. I'm always seeing new ones I like -- and the colors and styles are so much fun.

I do need a lightweight one, so that's my criteria before selecting. No shoulder and neck pain for me!

  7. I agree wholeheartedly with Mel!!Cheryl, I remember your comment about traveling light & I'm working on it. Tendonitis in the shoulder from too heavy a handbag is not fun, as I can atest. When I developed diabetes, I gave up many sandals & half my 100 shoes, but I'm on the lookout for comfortable, but colorful shoes so may make the trip to DSW over Easter break. A pair of surviving sandals are hot pink, turquoise, gold & purple. I call my espadrilles my Easter Egg shoes because the stripes are in the same colors mentioned before. Hated to throw away my turquoise & green loafers when they wore out.

  8. It is amazing the things we never use but carry in our purse for YEARS! Just in case? I paired way down and can get by with a much lighter bag, even though the bigger ones are in style.
